70 Chevelle Malibu w/ 400 Small Block

Have had a problem with a jumped battery draining after a couple of hours. Replaced battery, alternator, and checked the fuses with no luck. Terminals apear to be clean, and ground is good.

Friend jumped it with a shop jumper, and no power at all. no dome light or anything. Checked fuses again, tried jumping it with another car, and still nothing.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

Thanks, Wilke

Check both battery cables (both ends) first.

On a 70 power comes from a pigtail off the positive cable to a terminal block on the core support, across the radiator to a double terminal on the horn relay labeled "BAT" and feeds from there.

Terminals on batt connection on horn relay were all gunked up. Cleaned it up and it worked great! Thanks! Went to actually hook up the horn connections while i was at it and just got a buzzing noise, so kept them unhooked. Any advice on the battery drainage problem?

it would seem you have a ground somwwhere in the wiring and that is draining the battery. i have a "kill switch" in my 65 el camino which cuts off all power to the vehicle and keeps the battery from draining until i am able to find where the ground is.
