Was gonna clean up my rear window channel with a wire wheel and hit it with some PORs and I was trying to find metal but only found bondo so I went exploring and found this...about 1/8" thick bondo and its not fun at all
What should I do? I will eventually change the 1/4 panels and panel between the trunk and window but that will be in a few years when I have another car and money and a garage.
Should I rebondo it or should I cut out some Sheet metal and weld it in?
Also Where some has put in the patch panel they beat down the 1/4 sheetmetal and welded it in and filled it with bondo...very thick.
Im just gonna paint it with black primer then put a sealer over that so ill have some good paint and it wont look so bad cause no way in hell im gonna put an expensive paint job over how much bondo is on my car...

Very typical window channel rust damage. Usually worse than that if it's a vinyl top car (mine was). Being a GA car, my quarters were fine so my body guy just fabbed up patch panels in that area.

If youy plan on doing a major rebuild in the future then just fill it back in for now. You would be better off to use a fiberglass additive plastic like Dynaglass as it is waterproof an will hold up better in that area.

Even for a temp solution I think I'd try http://www.por15direct.com/s.nl/sc.2/category.148/.f

They make lots of fillers, etc for these problems.

I think im gonna take a strip of metal and weld it in over the big holes. Then cover it with PORs and use filler the rest of the way. I just dont want it to leak agian and rust out my trunk and rear seat floors. Thanks for the help. Im still taking suggestions tho
