The rear bumper on my 67 is high in the middle. The gap across the back from the chrome is not the same all the way end to end. Only thing I can think of is the bumper was bumped in the middle and bent a little.

No marks or scratches at all.......shame - the chrome is perfect

In the old threads I saw Tri-City Plating recommended and called them. They will straighten and re-chrome for me $225 plus shipping. Use them? or is there someone in the Chicago area that is good? I can save on shipping....

Does straightening work?

Probably do it after this season is over, I guess.

Just make sure that the straighten it before they chrome it. If it looks decent they might not even know it's bent or how far to pull it.
