Just wondering if anyone knows the production numbers of the 66 V8 Malibu's equipped with a 4 speed and buckets/console. Also, did any of these come w/ 283's or were they all 327's?

Funny you would ask, that is exactly how I ordered my Malibu in April 1966. I ordered it with a 283 / 220 hp, 4 speed, bucket seats, and console. I have never seen the production numbers on this combo, let me know if you come up with the numbers please. Do you have one also?

I guess if you could come up with the number of each engine code, say DB for 283 2-barrel 10.4" clutch (4-speed only) etc you could sort of come up with a figure. The 327 with a manual transmission could have been a 3 or 4-speed. Certainly the Powerglide was the overwhelming popular choice back then, just not with the enthusiasts. 4-speeds were pretty popular back then as well, but something like 80% were 'glides.

I've got a 66 project, originally a bucket/4speed car that I'm trying to sell. Was going to restore it, but bought a 67 that needed a lot less work instead.
