Hi im still looking at front springs and just cant make up my mind. The moog 5392 i cant seem to find anywhere and springs n things are sold out. So i was looking at moroso 47200 but my front end weight is too much i believe. The front weighs with me in it race rdy around 2150#(56.7% of total) with a supercharged all iron bbc in it. I called moroso tech and they pretty much said they wont work unless i get the front end lighter(1750-1810#). Are there any other springs out there that will work with this weight? Or is there anyone here that runs the moroso 47200 with a front end weight similiar to mine with any succes?
Thx, Brent

Brent,
Moroso tech is reading directly off the sheet.
Springs are no magic, its simply applied force of the weight of the front end, multiplied by the lower control arms leverage over the spring, to compress the spring.
the optimum ride height is going to be based on a certain spring compressed height.
Knowing what you want the spring compressed height to be is th key variable to figuring out what spring you need for the car.
In some quick calculations i would think that the 47200 would work, but I need more key info to be accurate.
If nothing else, i'd need current ride height. My correlation to ride height is the distance from the lower control arm snubber and the frame. if you can get me that info, its important.
Along with the current spring info.
I can get you close, the Moroso springs vary in True rate, and it will effect ride height.

I dont think i like what i just found. Measuring from the bump stop to the frame is 2.5" on the drivers side and 4" on passenger side. The bump stops are in good shape on both sides. Why would they be diff the ground is fairly lvl where it sits. From the bottom of the control arm to the ground is 7.25" and 7.0". The springs i had replaced somewhere around 6-8 yrs ago with stock bbc springs. Something like 336pounds per inch installed height of 11" with a free height of 16.63" and good for 1952# i believe. If more info is needed or anything else checked just let me know.
Thx, Brent

What are you looking for? Good handling or best launch. I have the 5536's with 1/2 coil cut and like them.

Try comparing these, all moog numbers that looked like they might work for 68-72 arms...
http://www.hal-pc.org/~rthlc/68-72_front_springs.html
also for 64-67....

Thx for the replies and the charts. Im not sure what to go with im looking for a spring to give me the most stored energy to get me maximum weight transfer. Something like the 5392 moog. Im still looking into the moroso 47200's.
