Your probably going to have to research the supplier to the restoration houses that you mentioned. A lot of the sheetmetal is from the same small number of companies. If you want good quality parts then you need to ask the right questions before ordering. What guage sheetmetal is this? Is this an off-shore stamping? Is this an exact repro? Questions like this will usually lead you to the best quality piece, but you may have to pay a little more in the long run. Also, if you don't recieve the answers you want or the right answers then move on, but sometimes the only way to go is NOS or original southwest USA rust free metal. Call the yards in that area from the Hemmings ads and see what they got. Unlike parts suppliers you can usually deal with the price on their metal. Or go to www.recycler.com (http://www.recycler.com) and post what you need. Someone may have what you need laying in their garage from a project sold off long ago or they didn't need it after they purchased it. I hope this helps you out. Good luck.
