Generaly speaking, how much should I expect to pay for a "paint job". Also, I want to keep my car hugger orange, is there any way to make sure I get the right color.

Around here? A basic paint job is going to start around $2500.00. This is a no body damage "scuff and shoot". On your typical '69 Camaro with minimal body damage and rust expect up to $10,000.00.

I've been told that to paint my 1966 Chevelle would cost about $2300. However, as with everything you need to ask around. I don't mean just shops, but friends and family. For example, I recently had my quarter panel repaired (Thank you to those who helped find the quarter panel extension). I was getting estimates of about $550-650 for the repair and putting on the primer, but I found someone who did a very excellent job for $150 through a family friend.

I have my sons 69 chevelle in the shop and the paint with clearcoat is costing $1200 plus about $1800 for body work.
The guy will do a good job but he is slow.
We are looking at around six weeks to get it back.

$2000 to $5000 for a daily driver.

$6000 to God only knows for show quality.
