I am in the process of building the front end on my 71 convertable. I am building on a new frame and are wondering what parts of the old suspension I can use. I know I need new ball joints, tie rod ends springs, shocks and bushings.
What I want to know about are the center link and stabilizer bar. Can I have the old ones blasted and painted? What problems could I run into?

Thanks,
Michael

Pictureguy, You should use a new center link and the stabilizer bar can be blasted, painted and reused. Order a front end super kit from PST if you don't already have a kit. They have regular as well as polygraphite kits.

The best price I found on a center link was at the Muscle Factory. I paid $90 for one for my 66.

Don't pay the $170-$190 some places are asking.

I think PST gets around $100 for a centerlink. Over time, the bolt holes in the center link can wear a bit, get loose, and result in slop in your steering
