Is there a six speed transmission/shifter set up that looks classic, like is should go in my 70 chevelle SS (clone).
Im looking to go the 6 speed route and was wondering if there was a shifter that looks stock...ish
Thanks!

Keisler and others sell many different shifter arms. I've got a Hurst arm and knob on my T56.

As Clint said, just have to get the right shift arm & knob. I'm running a Hurst stick with a ball handle on my TKO 5 speed, looks very period-correct.
I have a T56 6-speed in my El Camino and I retained the original 4-speed shift hump, carpet retainer, bezel, and boot. I had to move the floor hump back 5 inches. I could have easily adapted the original muncie shifter lever or any other style chrome lever for that matter. But I chose to use the shorter aluminum arm that came with the 6-speed shifter.

Typically with the 6 speed the shift position is to far back as seen in the other post you would have to relocate your shifter hump. {by the way that looks great}
We sell a shift relocation kit for the T-56 that would put it about 14.5/8 from the back of the bell.
The original 2nd gen shift position was about 16.5 from the bell.
We can then modify the shifter stub to get you within the center of the 4 spd hole.
Then you will have to modify you tunnel for fitment and correct driveline angle.
We also have put together a kit so you can use either a Lt or Ls T-56
with the original stlye bell and linkage.
Our shifter stubs will take a Hurst style shift handle.
We carry a complete line of bells,flywheels, clutches all parts needed for the conversion from auto if needed.
If we can help please call us 865-609-8187 ext 1
