thanks for your previous help
I have decided to change from my 60204 to a solid roller for next year.
I was hoping that you would recommend me a solid roller along with the lifters and springs.
454 BBC
10.2:1 compression
gm 325cc rect port heads from a 454ho--bowl blended---2.25/1.88 valves
victor jr intake
AED 850 ho carb
1 3/4" headers with 3" exhaust and dynomax bullet mufflers
msd igntion
1/2" fuel line and a holley blue pump with the "better spring"
350 turbo trans with a 2.75 first gear
4.30 gear in the rear
28X10 slicks
4500 stall
suspension is good
car weighs 3700 lbs
racing 1/8 mile on a .400 pro tree
footbrake car
car will be 80 % strip 20% street
I want to make as much power as I can. I want to run about 6.90's in the 1/8. Vacuum and idle quality is not an issue to me. With all of the bad stories about flat tappet cams, I dont want to worry about break in. I would like it to be as easy on springs as possible.
I used to run a combo very similiar to this except I has 11:1 compression. The cam was a comp cams solid roller
253/261 @ .050
680 lift
108
It ran 6.90's in the 1/8 mile with a 2.52 first gear transmission.
How will your recommendation compare? Thanks for your help.
