I read the can and the minimal literature from POR and there is no description of how to paint over the POR15 with the Chassis Coat Black. I went to the web site and still no definitive answer. I POR'd my suspension parts a few months ago and would like to paint with the Chassis Black before I reinstall them. Does anyone know? Your help would be appreciated. Thanks in advance. Pete

Normally, you apply a topcoat like Chassis Black within a few hours after applying the Por15. Typically, you wait till the Por15 has dried to the point where your finger will drag slightly when run try to slide it across the freshly painted part. In your case, you will want to take some wet-or-dry sandpaper, about 800 or 1000 grit, and lightly wetsand the surface before you topcoat with Chassis Black. This is per the local Por rep. All you want to do is scuff the surface just a bit.

I would clean them with marine clean B4 scuffing them!!!I did my frame with POR then went over it with the chassis coat about 24 hrs later :confused: The parts that I'd POR'd months ago I cleaned and scuffed with a green scotchbrite pad first...

Got my answer finally from POR representative, same as what you all told me, Thanks. Here's their reply;
Pete, I would recommend lightly scuffing the POR-15 with a scuff pad then apply 1-2 thin covering coats of POR-15 to the surface. Any further questions call 1-800-457-6715 or email www.por15.com (http://www.por15.com)
Just thought I'd post what they said for anyone else who may have the same question I had. Pete
