My car has been in the garage & out of bad weather (I'm in CA so the weather is not that bad anyway) for about a month after being painted.
The general rule I've seen is no waxing or putting on a car cover, etc. for at least a month.
Not really sure about washing but I haven't washed mine yet either. As for car wash places, I would steer clear if I was you but I guess it depends on how much your paid for your paint job and fussy you are. When you said car wash, I was assuming you're talking about car wash places.
Hope that helps,

Good Rule of Thumb. No car washes, wax, or abrasives of any kind for at least 90 days.. I would try too keep it out of horrid conditions for at least 2 weeks enough for the paint too cure to a point.. This is just my recommendation.
