Will a 70 el Camino grill bolt up to a 72 Camino core support
WHy do I ask??
Presently have a 72 camino but I've always been partial to 71's, Because of the split turn signal. I also like the conformity of the single bar that runs thru the center of the 71 grill But.. would like to have that bar painted body color just like the split in the turn signal lamp bezels outlined in the chrome strips
Also are the grills and headlight bezels the same for elkys and chevelles? I know the fender ext.and turn signals/bezels? are different

you'll have to get a new grill, headlight bezels, and turn signal lenses and bezels. direct replacement. Car craft just did it in a recent issue with El Cheapo

wait.. why are you asking about a '70? if that's what you want then you have to get new fender extensions and everything else. I'll just assume you meant '71

I know that a 70 grill will not fit in the available space between the fender extensions on a 71 because I already tried it. The dimensions are different. I "think" that 71 and 72 grills will not interchange.

71 and 72 grills will not interchange because of the headlight bezels. for 72 they run into the grill to make it look like one piece. for 71 they were sort of roundish and independant

Understand a 70 grill wont fit between the extensions.
Guess I'll drop in a 71 grill, anyone got one??

Don't want to confuse the issue, but my 72 has a 71 grill. Check my signature.

I've also got a used 71 grill with a few cracks that you can have for shipping costs.

I have a mint 71 grille complete with SS emblem and moldings.
I bought it new from GM about 10 years ago.
I had it on my 72, now that I've done a frame off, I put the correct 72 grille on.
