: new trunk floor kit from Goodmark?

I ordered a trunk floor kit from Ground Up last week (left, center, right, braces). Guy called today to tell me that they were backordered because they are waiting for the release of a newly retooled kit from Goodmark.

Supposed to be out on May 10.

Anybody else heard this, or know anything about this?

Not to bash anyone, BUT, that is common with Goodmark!!! They are always saying things like "it will be ready in six to eight months". Try Ground Up for the trunk pans. I did and they fit good.

Just found 'em from 1A Auto, on eBay of all places. Same 7-piece Goodmark trunk floors, saved $40 too. In stock, shipped today.

Not to bash goodmark either but my 7 piece kit for my 69 was so bad I sent it back and ordered the 2 piece from NPD.

The goodmark stuff was way thinner as well.

The NPD 2 piece was a GM restoration part and the only problem I saw was it has some wrinkles inthe stamping which I think is due to using the hevier gauge sheetmetal but it fit perfect.

Stephenmarshall,

I was at NPD the other day while visiting the parents (my folks live a couple of minutes away from NPD)and had them bring me out the 2-piece, which they claim is the "thickest, most detailed stamping on the market", or something to that effect.
It was a beefy piece, but I saw those wrinkles you were talking about (in the deepcorners, near the wheel housings).
The other thing I didn't like was that it was not EDP coated, like a lot of their other stuff.
Minor complaint.

Not sure if made by the same stamper but I bought the 2 piece from paddock. Its was thicker and better fitting then 3 piece unit. Plus the grat thing about it is that you only weld one seem shut not two.

Mine too had those crinkles but turned out to be a easy fix with a hammer and dolly. But in the end I ended up cutting that part off making my splice right below those wrinkles. Highly suggest the TWO piece trunk kit over the 3 piece. The only advantage is that the braces are prewelded on the 3 piece but not the 2...Eric
