I am trying to mount a reproduction made mirrors on a 1965 El Camino. The original holes aren't there, the passenger side didn't have a mirror when I got it and the drivers side had a square mirror. I have 2 round mirrors now, but unsure exactly where to mount them. The mirror mounts by screwing a bracket down first, then the mirror fits over that and uses a set screw to hold it in place. I need to know where the mirror should set to not block the vent window and look original. Anyone with pics would help. Thanks

Rich L79-I would like the same pictures. I am getting ready to mount the round repro mirrors on my '65 Chevelle.

The kit comes with sheet metal screws to attach the mounting bracket to the door. I heard that the screws get loose and the mirrors get floppy pretty quickly. Is it possible to use bolts and fender washers to attach the mounting bracket instead of using sheet metal screws? I am thinking about taking the inside door panel off and seeing if I can reach up inside the door enough to tighten the mounting bracket down with bolts. Anyone tried this?
