I have been installing alot of my trim (aftermarket) and have been doing alot of grinding,filing and fitting but in the long run it looks pretty good. My trunk lock has me stumped however. When I install it so that all the slots line up, the key is sitting horizonal
to the bumper and the rod the goes into the latch is also horizonal so it won't work that way. the key in our 65 sits vertical. Any ideas to help me out?

Rick I had the exact same problem with my 66. There are two types of locks. They look almost identical except the little tits used to hold the lock in place. They are 90 degrees differnt.

I bought my trunck lock set from GU. They exchanged it for the other type. It fit without any problem.

If you still have your old lock compare it to the one you have and you will see the difference.
