My rear panels above the tires were probably repaired there are some little dots that stick out probably from a puller someone used in the past. There isnt any bondo or welds though im not sure what they did, there small bumps, maybe 3 or 4 on both rear sides. Ive done quite a bit of body work but now id like it near perfect, does anyone have any good tips or tools?

sounds like sharp turning with junk in the trunk making dents from the inside.

You're probably going to have use a hammer and dolly to flatten out the high spots. You definetly want to use something to back up the metal before you start hammering on it.

Yeah it does seem like sharp turns and crap flying around, it would have to be a SERIOUS turn though to make these little pop outs, who knows what happened! smile.gif wait, something to back up the metal?

Yep, don't just try to hammer them down without placing something on the backside to support the surrounding sheetmetal. Otherwise, you'll just end up with a low spot where the high spot used to be. A bullseye pick might be a good tool to use on those also.

I probably would have forgot to brace the back, thanks for the tip!

I had a buddy in Memphis that did that very thing to his wifes brand new (then) 1985 Olds Ninty-eight. Seems he borrowed the floor jack from the shop and put it in the trunk. Made a left turn at speed leaving work and heard a "thump" in the trunk, he then made a hard right into a gas station to investigate what the noise was....and you guessed it, "heard that thumping noise again!"

Needless to say his wife "thumped" him a good one when he got home.
