I just got an original brochure for '68 ElCaminos and noticed that they advertise side marker lights front and back. I have the front '327' lights, but no lights in the back - does anyone know if these were standard on ALL models? It's possible that mine were filled in, or perhaps replacement panels don't have the cutouts..?

68 and 69 had rear marker lites and they were different from each other. The truck propably has 70-72 quarters on it. You can cut the holes and easily install them if you want. I have a set of nos 68 bezels if you are interested..

If I recall this topic came up a while back.
The discussion centered around when in the production year of 68 did GM put the rear side lights in. The thinking was sometime late in the production year. I have a 68 custom built in May that has the wiring harness, housings and bulbs (working) but no bezels or lenses. I'm just quessing the bezels and lenses were not available for production at the time. Who really knows why this would be.
