I have a '70 Chevelle. Originally it was Misty Turquoise (34). My questions are regarding what the correct paint colors are for some of the underside and inside areas (Turquoise or Black).
Underside of hood framework around where the hood insulation goes?
Underside if Truck lid?
Inside of the rear window? (Metal part just behind the cardboard area that is visable through the glass and from inside).
Thanks

I would say the underside of hood should be Black.
Underside of trunk lid should be body color.
I would think the panel around the rear window should be interior color.
Hopefully a 70 guru can jump in to confirm this.

This "panel" around the rear window. We're talking the little strips that fill the gap between the rear deck and the glass, right? One screw on each side in the corner and center piece is held in place because it is behind the two end pieces that are screwed in? Yes, same color as interior.

Regarding the piece in front of the rear window (inside the car), I didn't have any kind of removable piece "in the middle" (between the two screw holes). There were little corner pieces held in by the screws.
My interior color is Ivory and the back window cardboard is black. It seems odd to me that the piece in front of the window should be Ivory (interior color).
Are you sure it should be Ivory? And am I missing some kind of long piece across the middle (or are we talking about the metal itself)?
Thanks so far

Only the 2 plastic corner pieces. What color are yours now? Metal between these 2 pieces would be the same color as the 2 plastic pieces.
My 2 plastic parts and the metal between are red as is my package tray. If your package tray is black and the corner pieces as well, then I would say, black it is.

Things get a little dicy with Ivory interior. I assume the package tray would be Black. Again, I am not a 70's expert, but I would say the pieces in question should probably be the same color as the headliner, be it Black or Ivory.
Just my two cents worth.

Cool, that sounds better. Corner pieces are black and headliner is also black. Thanks, I could swear it was black at first but after 25 years the mind can play tricks tongue.gif
Speaking of headliners, where is a good source to find a "like original" (if a GM one is no longer available) headliner with the perforated holes?
Thanks,

Thanks so far  Sorry for the confusion bud. Its two corner pieces but they are infront of a longer piece that may or may not be attached (havent removed mine yet) but it is not just deck to window in the middle, theres a piece that takes up the gap.
