How do you get a stuck swivel nut loose. Im trying to adjust linkage in my shifter so i can get it all to fit but the swivel nut is frozen solid. i tried heat and PB blaster but it wont seem to budge. I have it stuck in a vice and im trying to use the rod for leverage and move the nut any ideas?

righty tighty
lefty loosy
no, I'm just messin with ya
actually what I have done is to heat the whole area
then have a wet sponge and dab the top of the bolt with the cold water from the sponge
normally it will reduce the bolt size just enough to break it loose
at least that is what I think happens, but it works alot of the time
good luck

Well i finally got them out the trick i used was LOTS OF PB BLASTER then i stuck the rod in the vice so it was sorta wedged (swivel nut at top of vice) Took some locking plyers and clamped them onto the swivel nut then took a crow bar and spun the nuts. Boy were they stuck too but i broke them all loose and now its perfect thanks
