Got the passenger door off to rough it up and primer and found that the inside of the door skin is pretty heavy in surface rust. I'd say it hasn't rotted, but it's getting there. I'm guessing it's probably got some embedded rust in the metal and is pitted, but nothing shows on the outside of the panel - I stripped it to bare metal and it's clean and quite solid.
Problem here, is that with little access to the back of the door skin and no welding ability, how does one take care of this sort of thing without replacing the door skin? Could I slosh some muriatic acid (okay, maybe not SLOSH acid but you get the point!) around on it to kill the rust and then POR it perhaps?
If I ignore the problem, it's bound to continue and eventually compromise the entire panel. Just can't effectively get to the dang'd thing!
