: Bumper Bracket options for a '70 Widetires22 Mar 18th, 03, 10:40 PM I'm beginning a search for front bumper brackets for my '70 Chevelle. Do brackets from any other year Chevelles work on a '70? How about brackets from other models '70 Monte Carlo? '71 Monte? '72 Monte? Thanks THORSS70 Mar 19th, 03, 2:03 AM When I was searching for front brackets for my 70, the only year/model that worked was the 70 only. The 71/72 brackets are shaped differently and will not bolt to the bumper. Not sure about Monte Carlo brackets, that frame sits out there in front more than the Velle', that might make a difference in how deep the bumper sits against the body. But I have never tried it. But the inner brace from a Monte is the same as the chevelle inner brace. The inner would be the bracket that bolts directly to the frame. The outer barce is different from chevelle to monte.
