I just joined the forums looking to get into the Chevelles. 67 has always been my dream car. I'm in the process of looking for one right now. Looking for dirt cheap one so I can build from ground up. Aside from those posted in the classifieds, anyone know of somewhere or someone that has any for sale? I live in the DFW area to give you a sense of where I am.
Thanks,
Scott

welcome and good luck... Be aware of what you might buy as far as the things that are missing/ need replacing only because some things dont fit like they should etc etc etc..
WE love the fact another chevelle or muscle car is being saved from the ravages of time / dirt/ or the ebayer ( no offence-to anyone as I use them too).
Understand ur garage may require storage of EVERYTHING in attics, storerooms and your living room ( a glass table sitting on top of an engine block is a great conversation piece).
I cannot believe the amount of money and time neccesary for a car needing more than I ever expected. but it is a hobby/labor of love. Knowing when u are finished.... maybe i should our companies motto....

I used to own an '84 chevy truck (short bed). It was stolen from me two weeks ago...one month before I was going to start tearing it down and build it the way I wanted. My wife is getting out of school this month and we made an agreement before she went back that I would be able to start working on the truck after she got out. I had all the companies websites I was going to start purchasing parts in my favorites, but the truck didn't last long enough.
Now I've decided, if I'm going to build something it should be the car I've always loved. The '67 Chevelle is it. I'm looking high and low for a decent car to buy and start building.
I do have two questions. I want to build this car the way I want, have fun with it, while making it streetable, not an original condition car. What would you all recommend...buying an SS or finding a Malibu and start from there? I see a lot of ads for 138 cars, but I don't know what the difference is between a 138 and an SS. All I do know is that the 138 means it was a V8 motor. Also, is the firewall and roof sections available from any reseller? I haven't seem them around.
Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Scott

Welcome from another Texan.I wouldn't make to much of having the 138 vin if I wasn't going the original look. The 138 was the vin for the ss cars up to 68.Was an option after that.If going the build what I want with all the HP stuff.Good luck.New member other day was looking at starting a chevelle club up there.I'm originally from Colleyville, then Bedford.

roof sections may have to be found in the junkyards. Unless they are making them now-
I do know they make them for the el caminos- but only for a couple of years-
Good luck-
A maibu would prolly be cheaper to start with and if you hold out- and spend the dough- you can get a pretty good one for less than you would shell out replacing panels.
as far as resale- if you have to get what you put in it-
quality quality quality (i"m finding out the hard way)..
oh yeh tastefull too. No wagon wheels - ya know the 48 inchers...
fuzzy dice IS ok- IF the interior does NOT match it-- fuzzy wise
actually- whatever floats your boat- its YOU that decides if YOU like it.
but its a judge that decides if its kewl or how much your fine is for exceeding the sound barrier...
OOPs did I miss my meds again?
