Greetings vortecroller,
Just a hobby welder myself, but it should due. I have never seen this model before, prices seem to be very good; http://store.weldingdepot.com/cgi/weldingdepot/index.html
I have been playing with a friends borrowed Craftsman welder from time to time for the last year. Its spec's for single pass welding are about the same (1/4 inch). As for buying a new welder for myself i have been checking out the Firepower line of welders. According to my electric motor repair guy these are the same internaly as the miller machines. They use tweco guns so all the consumables are readily availiable from local supply houses. Make sure that you can buy spares tips localy. I have heard, never seen, of some welders only taking tips and wire that are custom built for the unit. The craftsman welder tips were a hard to find but cheaper than the sears replacement brands.

Check with the local welding shop. If you are getting gas and such buy there. I still got a better price on my tig unit there.
