No way to tell the original selling dealership from the VIN.

Tomm... If you're fortunate enough to have the Protecto-Plate, the dealer would be listed. I just contacted the dealer on my Protecto-Plate the other day, hoping to get some additional info such as service records. The dealer was kind enough to reply ( still in business! ) ,,,but said they only keep records for 7 years. It was worth a shot. How cool would that be to get background info on a 66' Chevelle ...
