Anyone using a nylon button for thier roller cam? I am curious how the wear chacateristics are, being I installed one and have not run the engine yet. I originally bought a roller button but had heard they have a chance of coming apart.

I have been using them for 5 years and will not use any thing else. The only issue I have with them is the step that goes into the cam gear is not deep enough for it to protrude thru the gear when installed. In other words when you tap it all the way in until it stops against the cam itself, the shoulder does not stick out if the cam gear , it is recessed inside the gear a bit. I use a .030 valve spring shim that is real small in diameter (sorry I can't recall the part number) that will fit inside the gear and install it behind the button and that makes it protruder thru the gear so my cam bolts will catch it when I install them. They're all I'll use. I love them.

I'm getting cold feet now that I'm about to button this thing up. I think I just need to get these heads on and move on with my life!
