i have a 1966 chevelle that i bought. the engine is out of an impala and it has the correct engine mounts but foir some reason the oil pan for the engine appears to be resting on the frame. also the frame does not appear to be bent. any ideas? do chevelles require a special oil pan?

"Do chevelles require a special oil pan?" Yes, Chevelles require pan that is recessed further back toward the oil pump.

Just a note on this, I ordered two pans from different parts houses before I got the correct one for a 66 bbk from Ausley's . The right one will have plenty of clearance.
