I'm 16 and have been working on my 68 chevelle 2 door coupe with my Dad for a little over a year. I need some help with a my back seat. We pulled it out and the frame and metal wiring are rusted through. I need a new back seat top and bottom frame section. Do I have to have a back seat frame from a 1968 chevelle or are back seat frames from all GM A Bodies the same for 1968 thru 1972? If anyone knows, could you please help me out.

Thanks Brob. Do you know if other years will fit also? Like 1969, 1970 years. We're having a hard time finding the 1968 back seat frame and springs, so we were hoping that some other years would fit. No chevelle specialty stores sell the back seat frame, so if others will fit, it will open up our possibilities.
Thanks again for the reply.

Convertibles will not fit a hard top car just so you know. They are shorter.
Their is one on ebay now Clicky Here (http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1969-CHEVELLE-SS396-REAR-SEAT-69-MALIBU-SS-396_W0QQcmdZViewItemQQcategoryZ34206QQihZ003QQitem Z130006750962QQrdZ1)
And it looks like it still has the build sheet in it???????

Great info, thanks. The seat on ebay you linked me to is a 1969, so i'm assuming that you are telling me it will fit. I'm also looking at a 1970 seat but don't know if it is interchangeable. Any idea?

Nothing else fits. I took this information out of an interchange book

Thanks again Brob. Where can I get one of those interchange books? Sounds like a great thing to have handy.
