hello I bought a 66 chevelle and its supposed to be the ss big block.The car has a single master cylinder with drums on the front is this normal for this year of ss.It has 138 in the vin code and has the 12 bolt.It also has the gauges in the dash,,gas,oil,temp and battery. this is a 4 speed car also..thanks for any help

1st year for disc brake option was 1967.

Sounds right for the '66. Single reservior master and all-wheel drum.

Ditto to above two replies. One thing though, the tach/gauges were not a SS-only item. They were not standard equipment on the SS and the tach/gauges could be ordered with any V8 sport coupe or convertible. I believe the RPO U14 gauge package included the knee-knocker tachometer as well in 1966.
