My bud's 72 Chevelle needs a manual steering box. Anyone know of a crossover model? This is a low budget drag car.

I have the box you are looking for, with a NEW coupler, I was going to put it in our small block s-10, but i needed a new style metric box instead, $125.00 shipped, phone 7 am -2pm eastern time, 718 997 3947, Joe.

I put a manual steering box in my '69 out of a late model S-10, bolted right up, I picked it up at the salvage yard for $40. HTH.

Yes , they both will bolt into each others chassis, But i'll bet a dollar to a donut that your pitman arm isnt fully seated unless you changed it also! they ARE 2 different diameters and i wasnt sticking my son in an 11.90 car with a questionable fit.

Last year I took out my power steering and swapped in a manual steering box out of an '85 S-10 in my '81 camaro. Yes it is a direct bolt in but in my case I had to use the manual pitman arm and also try to find an idler arm to fit. Then I had to have them both reamed out to fit the ball joint stud because the S-10 stud is smaller. just my 2 cents.

You are correct, I used the manual pitman arm.
