Does anyone know of a description of the operation of the vacuum and electronically operated controls on the '70 - '71 Cowl Induction Hood option ?? Or can anyone explain the operation in a brief note ?
Interested in knowing if you need both the control types or if the vacuum system alone is enough.... Thanks

the vacuam dashpot opens the outside door, the electric switch under the gas pedal opens the inner flap door letting the air to the carb. Both need to work together to get air to carb.....
Hope this helps!!??

coico,

This is covered very well here http://www.chevelles.com/forum/Forum1/HTML/005718.html and in other postings on this site. Just do a search on "cowl induction" you'll get a lot of info.

the gas pedal switch also kicks down the tranny ...the cowl solenoid is supposed to be energized when the switch is activated via a firewall mounted relay
