I dry fit my windshield today. Any problem with jacking it up about 1/4" ?? 3M ribbon came with rubber blocks for the bottom that are about 3/8" high. The windshield barely covers on the top and I'd like to do a neat job. I'm afraid if I put ribbon on where it is, some might show under molding. Now has 5/8" at the top. Are larger spacers available or can I use just about anything?

Those rubber blocks that the buytl tape kit come with usually do the job. It can be laid down to make it a little "taller" as well. Or you can put another "spacer" of some sort under it I guess, but I have never needed it. Is it a new glass? Maybe there is something wrong and it is too short.

I like to put the butyl tape on the glass right on the edge so it is as far out as possible so it isn't seen, inside or out.

Yep, new glass from Pilkington. Good idea about putting ribbon on glass instead. 1/4" higher should be about right. Thanks! graemlins/beers.gif
