If I remember correctly when I installed my Weinad manifold it told me to discard the rubber cross over seals with RTV the 1st time I did it that way the rear leaked the second time I replaced it with seals, no leak but I am having all type of running rich and miss problem is there any reason why these gaskets and discarded or is it just the possiblity of the gasket pushing out.

#2 - just the possiblity of the gasket pushing out.
I had better luck with it there, so thats what I am sticking with Thanks

I have always used the rubber end gaskets and have never had a leak.
I agree the first and only time I did away with the seal I had a leak !!!
I never use them cause they squish out sometimes.

I learned a neat trick from the guy I worked with in the machine shop for 6 years. He was there for 40 years.
Lay a nice 1/4" bead all the way accross the rails.
Set the manifold on gently and just start all of the bolts. Do not thread them in more than half way.
Let the manifold sit overnight or longer if possible so the RTV can set up.
Then when you tighten the bolts and torque them to spec, it squishes the RTV and creates a better seal !
Another trick is to center punch the 4 surfaces. Probably about 30-40 per surface. This gives the RTV something to bite on and it will be less likely to squeeze out at a later date.
