BRINGS THE TORQUE CURVE DOWN (COMES IN SOONER). 2* WILL BRING THE CURVE DOWN ABOUT 200rpm I THINK, CANT FIND WHERE I SAW IT. A CAM 213 AT .050 WITH 4* GROUND INTO IT RUNS AT 1000-5500 RPM, PER SPECS.... SO 6* WOULD BE 800-5300. 8* WOULD BE 600-5100 AND SO ON.

MY QUESTION-OF-THE-DAY IS IF I WANT PEEK POWER TO COME IN AT 2000-3000 RPM, HOW FAR CAN YOU ADVANCE IT? BESIDES TOP HP WHAT WILL IT HURT?

BUILDING A 400 FOR A 5000+ LBS TRUCK.
THANKS! MR. BLUE

Too far advanced could bend rods and break other things I beleive. Too early of a burn creates too much cylinder pressure and somethings got to give. IMO.

Now...
I had a 406 in a K5 Blazer with 4.56's,and 38's. Low end was no problem (spin all 4 on the street). Problem was trannys(5),driveshafts(??),transfercase(1),and rears(3) (couldn't keep one under it)
