I was wondering if there is any place that specializes in selling these used emblems. I am looking for a Carpenter's Chevrolet one or Alamance Motors (NC dealerships)one. I'm not sure if those dealerships even used them (no evidence of it on the car) but I thought that having one of these on the car would make a nice touch when I finish the resto.

I can't say I've ever seen anyone that sold the old dealership emblems, but I imagine you might find one on an old car in a bone yard. As a last resort, if you know what the emblem is supposed to look like, you can probably find someone to reproduce it and print it as a stick-on graphic. You might even be able to find a photo of one at the Chamber of Commerce or historical society of the town the dealer(s) were in. That would make the reproduction that much easier.

I've heard that the memory is the second thing to go.
I don't remember what the first thing is!?

Sometimes the dealer may have some in a corner of the parts dept. especially if it is a small family run dealership that has been around in the same location for years. Never hurts to try and contact the dealer and inquire.
