I have a set of Hotchkis coil over air bags in the rear of my 70 ss396 El Camino. They have worked fine. I recently had to trailer a big BBQ to a pic-nic and had to add more than my normal 10lbs. of air in the rear. While going down the hwy, the rt. rear air bag blew. I went on-line to hotchkis and they sell red air bags now, (mine were black). Are these a replacement for mine?
Also, does anyone have a recommendation if it would be better to just put on air shocks? Pros and cons? If so, any type air shocks recommended?

i've heard that you should stay away from air shocks. they put too much stress on the lower shock mount, can cause them to break. As far as the bags go, give hotchkis a call or shoot them am e-mail about what bag you had/might buy.
