just bought 59 corvette the color on the car is called classic cream when i bought the car the hood had a bubble in it so the guy i bought it from said he would have it fixed thoought that was nice at the time. the problem is that the color is a creamy yellow but it has a green hue to it when they painted the car they blended the paint into the fenders now in all light except the flourescents in my garage the paint looks great other than a few fisheyes which you cant see until your about 2 inches from the paint. in the flourescent lite you could see that the new paint has a greener hue than the old therefore seeing where it was painted. i know its hard to match and blend old laquer. but is this normal or should they have been able to match and blend it better?
thanx

Your problem has a LOT of varibles. Normally you can sand an entire panel and spot the repaired area with the properly reduced laquer. After coverage is achieved, I go to adding clear and additional thinner and expanding the coverage to blend, ending with almost entirely clear and a lot of reducer. After it all dries for a couple of days, color sand and buff. This will prevent an 'edge' from showing but the whole secret is in the color match. The older and more sun the paint has seen, the harder the job. If they have 'tinted' the original color enough to change it, its very difficult to match. If you put on polarized sunglasses, you'll REALLY see some differences.
