Aside from Unlimited (which I have learned much about, from searching the old posts) I have been unable to find any information about people using fiberglass panels, specifically doors. I wanted to lighten the car up a bit, and I like the idea of using fiberglass. I was curious if anyone here was using fiberglass parts, other than hoods, in non-racecar applications?

Thanks in advance http://www.chevelles.com/forum/smile.gif

i know glasstek makes a door for chevelles. i don't know the quality but i am sure its nice by the way the rest of their panels are. i am trying to get ahold of them beocuse i kind of want to order some for myself if there nice. streetable fiberglass doors might be misleading becouse of the fact the have no provisions for the window cranks or door stuff that i know of. but i'll try to get ahold of glasstek and post back.

Fiberglass doors on any car to me is just asking for trouble. Why risk your safty for a few tenths of sec or 5lbs? Plus you stated non race car apps, so whats the point of glass doors? Give me a rusted beat up metal door any day of then week...Eric

Glasstek's # is 630-978-9897. I bought a cowl induction hood from them and I love the quality and attention to detail (form underhood for insulation if desired). The Chevelle fiberglass doors are listed for $540 a pair. Good Luck!
