in an earlier discussion it was brought to my attention and if you look in some parts books its listed as supplement big block body mounts. these are the extra set of body mounts inboard of the corner front body mounts at the firewall. I have a 71 Chevelle convertible like this. the towers are wider and have 2 frame to body bushings on each side. it has the original 350 in it. but I have 69 to 72 coupes, SS, elkys and wagons and even a 70 cutlass convertible that all do not have the wider towers and double mounts. does anyone know why and when these wide double bushing towers were used?

It was my understanding that the double mounts were used on the convertibles only.
I can't explain the Cutlass not having them though. http://www.chevelles.com/forum/confused.gif

I've seen several 66 GTO HT's with the extra set of body mounts up front as well as the A-Body convertibles.

I just want to make sure I know where you guys are talking about this bushing goes. Would it go here right below where the inner fender mounts?

This is a picture of the passanger side of my 70 chevelle convertible and it has only one bushing. There is however a hole in the body that corresponds with this hole in the frame where you could use a bushing.
