ok a friend of mine has a junk 72 monte carlo and i was told i can take the front disc brakes for free, but i don't think they will work? did chevy use the same spindles and rotors? will it work for a 68 chevelle malibu ss?

67-68 used rare & expensive 4-piston calipers, different brackets, and I believe even different rotors.
69-72 used single piston calipers, and parts are cheap & plentiful, and fit any 64-72 Chevelle as a direct bolt-on swap. They'll fit your car without any problems, and are actually better than the "correct" 68 parts.

Thats a good friend you have there. In addition to the rotors, calipers, and the spindles, take as much of the donor cars parts as you can, power booster, master cylinder, combination valve off the frame rail and if the lines aren't rusted take them too maybe they'll fit also.
