Hey guys, i am going to start assembling the engine pretty soon and wanted to get to painting some of the smaller parts before i get started on the motor. Something to do while i kill time for the rotating assy to be finish balanced. What brand/type of engine paint would you guys recommend. A primer first or is there a good enamel enough? Part numbers and specifics would be highly appreciated. Chevy orange of course smile.gif

i use just the chevy orange high temp paint over a high temp primer from the auto parts store.... comes in rattle cans. looks good, and is cheap and easy
i've heard some stuff about ceramic paints being super tough and looking good longer, tho.... haven't tried them can anyone comment on this?

I used POR15's chevy orange engine enamel and was very pleased. Can be brushed or sprayed. Not the cheapest though. Guess you get what you pay for...and yes I know the water pump is not colour "correct" :D

I used the Dupli-color ceramic in chevy orange. I had to put on about 4 coats to really get the color right but so far so good...This pic was taken just after I painted it and dropped her in.

Hey Street/Strip68,
Have you ever been to the Monster mile? It must be nice having a NASCAR
racetrack so close to your home.
