Anyone know of a good classic car insurance company? I've checked with Hagarty and a couple others, but not real crazy about the 2000-3000 miles per year limit they want to stick on the policy. Just bought a 67 'velle and need to get insurance for it. Not going to drive it every day, but its not just gonna sit in the garage either...

I agree with the state farm. Under $100 for 6/mo for my 71 Chevelle SS clone.

I just renewed with Grundy because I can drive it as much as I like as long as I have another car as a daily driver. With Hagerty though they offer free towing they wanted a couple hundred more to cover my modified Chevelle. Grundy had no problems with my current changes or with my plans to install a roll cage as long as I provided updated pictures.

Who says they come out and check your odometer every year to verify you've not driven it more than you're supposed to?

Sometimes they ask you to write the odometer reading when you renew the policy. Hard to keep track of lies IMHO. Another problem is if it ever got into an accident and you filed a claim, they might not pay up if your milage doesn't jive with what you said.

You know how insurance companies are.:p

I've had Hagerty for 7 years, they didnt ask the mileage on my car when I first insured it and never have since. No problems with them at all. $210 for $30000 coverage.

Excellent rates, stated values, 10,000 miles per year. 25% cash back after 3 years, if no claims. Plus they can insure all your cars and home.

Do a search on here. I wouldn't use State Farm. I did for quite a few years but I learned better. Make sure you have an "Agreed Value" policy and not a "Stated Value" policy. State Farm doesn't offer as "Agreed Value" policy even though they'll try and make you think they do. Check it out for yourself.

something almost no one ask's is yes the car has to be gararged.... BUT what limits on store's of paint ,thinner, gasoline, acetone, you get the idea ??? most Insurance companys limit stored FUELS to three gallons.... somthing to think about as 99% of us have way more then that .... & it is a valid reason for the Insurance company to Decline your claim !!!!

i better check with State Farm. I was told that my policy was for a 15K stated value. I better make sure that is true!

Grundy, and I have filed a claim and they paid up with out a hassle. Check them out at AM Best for ratings (they are under the Chubb family, as the reinsurer).
