My 69 Chevelle has factory A/C, so the glove box is made of plastic, not cardboard. From what I can tell, the repro's are cardboard, not plastic. Since mine is in excellent condition except for the black flocking on the inner surface, I was wondering if anyone has re-flocked their glove box or console compartment. It should be a simple process, but I can't seem to find the flocking locally. Anyone done this already?
Thanks,
Rich

Seem like the ticket, but I have not tried it yet.

I haven't tried it on any larger objects, but I have done it several times on model cars to simulate carpet. Basically, you just sprinkle a liberal amount of the fibers in wet adhesive, let it dry and shake or vacuum off the excess. It's easier to get a good looking result if the adhesive is of the same color as the fibers, so I usually use paint. Spray or brush a good coat of paint and apply the fibers immediately before the paint dries. You can't do any touch-ups so you only get one shot at it, so you might want to practice the procedure before you try it on something expensive.;)
You can find the flocking in many hobby stores (saw it at Hobby Lobby a while ago), but it usually comes in small packages so ordering from Donjer might be cheaper if you need a lot.

Hinshaw's has the material that you need to do this. Give them a call at 336/586/0890.
