Want to get some Chevelle action going in DFW area, anyone interested? We had a local club but I think it disbanned. I live in Celina, 25 miles north of Dallas. Just finishing up on my 64 SS (5 year project) so thought good time to join ACES. I am into Drag Racing also, Top Sportsman, and have a few more interesting rides. E-mail rhauk@yahoo.com.

I live in Keller and my car is still a ways from being completed. We had a local club called Metroplex Musclecars, but there hasn't been much going on with them recently. Lone Star Chevelles is no more. Same goes for ArkLaTex Chevelles.

Time for something new.

Say, look's like we got enough for a little get together, not anything formal, just to see whos interested, if anyone is up to a ride to Celina, 18 miles north of Frisco, a chance to take a country drive. I have a Hot Rod garage, beverages and three acres of parking we could meet and do some bench racing and plan some acctivities. Camaros would also be welcome as we have 4 of those.
e-mail if interested. rhauk@yahoo.com

Back in May, a bunch of TC dude's from the North Texas (and Houston) area got together and did a little drag racing at I-35 Denton Dragway. It was alot of fun.

Bob,

We should plan a big fall activitiy, what do you say?

Sounds good to me, but not I-35 Denton, lately they don't prepare the track well enough, our cars shake the tire's there, lets make it Red Line Raceway east of Rockwall Tx. better track, better pits, better food and the most important clean rest rooms, no porta cans there. We need a get together before.

Chris is right, a real blast! I am up for a big fall activity as well. Just tell me when, where and what to bring (besides my car of coursse).

Also, I know that some time ago we were trying to start up a DFW club with Fritz, Brian and Chris from HIghland Village. Here is the link - http://www.chevelles.com/forums/showthread.php?t=88846
Fritz is 67SS138 and Brian is brimac, I am not sure what Scott's member name is. It would be good to get all of us together. The member's I have met so far have been great people!!

That sounds great occaisionally.... but is over an hour and a half from me here in south Ft Worth! (would be better when it cools off a little!)

I think a more centrally located meeting place would be better for regular attendance for a DFW based group....

I would think this is where the North and South chapters come in to play. I would agree that Bob's place would be good for the North chapter. Though, I would be curious how far of a drive this would be for the guys up around Wichita Falls. Then a chapter would be set up on the south side and then every few meetings or so we all meet in the middle. Any other thoughts and opinions?

Celina is probably less than 100 miles from Wichita Falls. Once we developed a chapter,we could rotate meeting places to keep interest at a high level.
Maybe Chuck will let us mail out notices to Texas ACES members. That would help tremendously since not all members are online.

I think rotating between places sounds good. that way all members get to have a meeting closer to home and then can drive a little farther to the next one.

I have a place in Pilot Point about 12000 sq ft with a two post and a four post lift with 4 service bays that would be good for tech. or inspection. Only draw back is that my drive is 1/2 mile gravel road but is smooth well kept (a little dusty).

Its on the north side of Denton so its not any closer than Bob's place but everyone is welcome.

All we need now is a guy who wants to pull it all together! Not Me!!!
