well doing finals on my resto of another 1970 and am running into some difficulties, the hood is NOS but fenders are gm goodmark, others were to far gone, tried moving core support from side to side, hood front to back and shimmed drivers front fender out and still not enough clearence for hood, rubbinside drivers fender, the hinges are new from gm, any suggestions would be helpful, almost looks like if you widen the holes on drivers side hinge you could proably push hood over to one side, need more input to help, already have 1 ding in hood at edge, thanks mike

Fit the hood BEFORE paint:waving: If you loosen top bolt on one hinge and lower bolt on the other hinge you should be able to push hood to one side and tighten up. Car looks AWESOME, who did the paint???

Ya, that way you can move it sideways without screwin up the front to back fit. Don't let the wife near it though, she's liable to buckle it in half;) As long as you have room to move it the other way??? Otherwise you'll have to move the fenders out.

nope did'nt work, measuring the clearance, hood is 63 3/8 wide and my fender to fender is 63 5/8 inches wide, so I take it these must be opened wider to make more clearance between fenders, flatline painted the car mike, dan use to work at yorkroad also, like dave started his own biz, but he is getting out of doing these cars, like bill at yorkroad, $$$$$ is in insurance work, mike

Ya I know Dan, does great work. Everybody does them for a while, I like the scuff and shoot of insurance work too:D
Should give you an 1/8 on each side? If it is too tight you got no other choice but to pull the fenders out, then you might have to pull the tops of the doors out a little too. Take your time and make one adjustment at a time. Good Luck.
