Chris I'll even throw in his 68 4 door for it... :p
Whittaker Jul 3rd, 06, 2:54 PM Very nice. I had a 68 442 convert that needed more work than I could afford when I was in high school. I wish I had it now. It almost made me sick when Overhaulin messed with an all original 68 442 and were all happy about it.
1BadRat Jul 3rd, 06, 4:08 PM Nice, Chris!!

Everday I resist the urge to drop in a 455..the car is all stock/matching numbers: 350 2bbl,2 speed, single exhaust and 3.08 gears. You can barely hear it run..its like whisper quiet.
MrBill66Malibu Jul 4th, 06, 7:47 AM Why resist? Everything bolts in. Just put everything you remove in a good safe place, label everything, take pictures and remove the plugs and squirt in some oil in the cylinders and remove the rocker shafts. Install anything you like, you are not going to ruin the value unless you start cutting up the wheel wells or customise it. Even if you decide to build up the 350. Go for it !!! I say enjoy your car the way you want it!!!! Dont worry we are all hear to help !!
Bill
P.S. Nice car, it would really scream with a 455. lol
Freddy Mercado Jul 4th, 06, 11:41 AM Very nice car Chris. Do you still have the Buick Grand National????
mr 4 speed Jul 4th, 06, 11:51 AM Very nice car Chris. Do you still have the Buick Grand National????
Thanks Freddy.Yes,I still have the Buick.I bought the Olds 5 years ago for $1800..it came home as roller with no nose or interior installed.Finished it up about 3 years ago and left it all stock except for paint, which is 1969 Daytona Yellow.

i have a 71, i was going to ride my harley to a car show on the 4th, but one of my buddie's sons wanted to go, i didn't know this till 10:30 p.m. on the 3rd. i get up early on the 4th, take my olds to a drive threw wash. that was a mistake, i hadn't started the car in about two months, and it was filthy, i ordered the works, and proceeded to hot wax all the dirt, the wash didn't get off, directly to my car, aaaaarrrrggghhhhh!!!, so i go pick up my little brother (he'd never been to a car show) and then went and picked up my buddies kid, so we're hauling ass threw the mountains, me, a ten year old, and my new little brother, he's eleven. some dork in a new v-dub tries to pass us, so we hit it, and leave him in the dust, boys are going crazy, and the olds is acting like a reo stat, almost silent, and just doing pretty much anything i ask of it, not bad for a 35 year old ride, with a leaky two barrel. i gotta give it to olds, somehow they geared this thing where it will run at 80+ all day, and still have enough grunt to light the rear tire. i need to treat this ol gal to a new carb. it's the least i can do for a car that sits for months at a time, and starts at a seconds notice.
Too cool. There was a guy in my neighborhood who had an off-white '70 442 convertible some years ago. Then he went and built a full-tilt 455 for a '70 Cutlass he bought. Nice cars, those Oldsmobiles. I do like the '68 grille, and I always thought it was pretty trick on the ram air 442s how they routed the intake through the grille.
Xtreme70SS396 Jul 5th, 06, 1:44 PM Not sure if I'm more impressed by the number of nice cars you have or the number of posts you've somehow managed to accumulate...
Very nice!!
mr 4 speed Jul 5th, 06, 2:32 PM Thanks Mark (and everyone for the kind words) :D
