OK, I started last nite what was supposed to be a simple knock down and scuff job. http://www.elcaminocentral.com/users/dennis68/elco.jpg

As you can see it got out of hand-it's amazing what people do to old cars. Guy before me was a total butcher, filler right on top of rust, whatever.
Anyway, the reason for this post is that I am having trouble getting the doors to seal-it was like this before and I rebuilt the hinges today thinking that would help, I still can't get the top to seal with new weatherstrip. The door trim is almost touching the drip rail when you close the door but when its closed I can see daylight through the top. http://elcaminocentral.com/users/dennis68/drgap.jpg

You mean to tell me al you guys with pre-Astro ventilation have your windows sealed up tight, no leaks when you wash your car? How do you do it. I am using OPG weatherstripping, it is a few years old but has never touched the body so it is still in good shape. Is it possible the weatherstrip isn't right and needs to be thicker? Anybody have an idea, who is good to use for weatherstripping?

I had a similar (not quite so bad) experience with my 67. The vent window frame is adjustable. Not up, but inward/outward. With the door panel removed, you'll see nuts with a slotted bolt. They adjust the attitude. That may help you squeeze your vent window frame inward to seal (a little better). It's not up you want, but inward. Hope yours works out.
