I know this is not a chevelle question, but I know a few of you have Monte Carlo SS's. My question, is has anyone ever replaced the weather stripping for the Ttops? My son has one, and we started stripping out the old weather stripping yesterday. What a project this is turning out to be. It takes forever to get all the old adhesive and weatherstripping off. My problem is that in the center T section, I'm not sure that to get the new weather stripping back in if I have to grind out the rivets, or just try to work the weather stripping under the grooves? Any ideas or info would be appreciated. Thanks
Probably get quicker info at www.montecarloss.com (http://www.montecarloss.com) My Montes didn't have t-tops or I never changed a seal.

Thanks Jeff, I went over there and did a search, I found where a few people said they are a pain to replace, and you have to know what you are doing. (great). I wish this car had been a hardtop. Almost everyone who has a ttop car was complaining about it. Wind noise, leaking, flex. Oh well, hopefully it will all go together ok

I did T-Top weatherstripping on a Monte Carlo last year wasn't that big of a deal. You just have to remove the trim pieces that are long the quarter panels and long the back side of the T-Tops. It took me about 2 hours start to finish.

Wow, it's taking us alot longer than that!! It's a pain trying to get all the old adhesive off! What did you use? Then trying to get the metal trim pieces back in with the new weatherstripping there is tough too, the new rubber makes it tough to push the metal trim pieces back to their original holes. What did you do with the T piece that runs down the middle? How did you get the weatherstripping pushed under that lip? I went on the monte carlo site, and everyone who has done it says it's a pain, and you have to know what you are doing. I know we're into this for over 10 hours already and probably still have another 4 hours to go. Once you start putting the weatherstripping in, that goes in easy, but it's getting the trim pieces back in. How much did you have to pay for your weather stripping? Between weatherstripping, sealing strips along the top, and new adhesives, this has turned out to be over $400. It better not leak!!!
