I am painting my car a dark gunmetal grey, im not painting the car yet but i was thinking about painting the door jams and such black. Do any of you see any problems with this? will it look wierd. Im talking about where the doorhinges bolt to the body, that area there. will it make it look like the gaps are bigger or anything? thanks

Anthony,
Why do you want to go through all the trouble to paint the jambs black? I don't know if it would look "weird", but it don't make much sense to me.

im in kind of a wierd situation, i dont have the cash for the paint that im going to do my car in, but i do have some black paint lying around. The guy that is going to paint it said he would prefer i have the car mostly assembled. Its just a matter of trying to get as much done as i can. I cant stand letting the car just sit.

Do yourself and the car a favor and find a paint supplier that can load your gunmetal color in a spraycan, at least that way you can do the jambs yourself and the color will be close

Anthony,
That's a great idea that Bob gave you. Just remember, do it right the first time, especially with paint, you'll be happier in the end.
Good Luck!
