Yesterday, I came back from a business trip to Piracicaba and Sao Paulo Brazil. Chevrolet is considered a high-end brand. The only Chevy there that they also sell in the states is the Aveo (although it's not called that). The Honda Fit (pronounced Feetch in Portuguese) is considered a mid size car.

Anyone else here ever visited Brazil?

Yep, Curitiba. Considered the cleanest city in Brazil. Also Belo Horizonte. Great place!

Been across the river Mamore from it in Guyaramarin Bolivia a number of years ago. Part of "La lucha contra las drogas". Looked like good country thru binos.

Curitiba is like a farm community and Sao Paulo is a major industrial city -- both are inland, no beaches at either one. Rio de Janeiro is what you guys are thinking of. I've been there in the past, but not this trip (and...um, yes I have seen such things). :-)

Never been there, but according to Pres. Bush a Brazillian is a pretty high number. Must be more than a Gazillian

Have been twice before, Christmas of 97 and spent a month in July, 99. Have had three Brazilian foreign exchange students live with us for a year each. All three were great kids. All played soccer and were very skilled. The H.S. soccer coach loved us. He use to ask when was the next one coming.

The families lived in Vitoria, ES, which is on the ocean about 300 km north of Rio. Also have been to Manaus in the Amazon, Foz do Iguacu and Salvador.

We are leaving in two weeks to go back for one of the boys graduation from medical school. Will go to Vitoria first and then drive back with the family to Rio for the graduation.

In Oct. another one is getting married and we are going back for that also. We have always enjoyed the country. People are extremely friendly. They don't even laugh at my Portuguese.
